I’m Hassan Wurie, a data scientist, AI engineer, and researcher passionate about building technology that truly serves people — especially across Africa. I care deeply about open-source, digital public goods, and making sure the tools we build reflect real local needs, languages, and cultures.

A lot of my work sits at the intersection of machine learning, language, and access. Whether it’s working on local language AI models, open health projects, or tools for financial inclusion, I’m always thinking about how to make tech more human, more inclusive, and more useful to everyday people.

I’m based in Freetown, Sierra Leone, and I believe some of the most important innovations are coming from communities like ours — where creativity meets necessity. My journey isn’t about just building cool things with code, it’s about building with purpose.
