Guide: How to Post Your Meetup on Discourse

Note: All Hubs are required to post after each meetup

1. Post Title Format

Use this exact format for your post title:

[University Name] Meetup – [Date] – [Venue]

Example:
Njala University Meetup – 22 July 2025 – ICT Lab

2. What Your Post Should Include

Your post should follow this simple structure:

Meetup Overview

  • University: Njala University

  • Date: 22 July 2025

  • Venue: ICT Lab, Bo Campus

  • Organising Team: Names of PoCs or club members

Discussion Topic / Theme

Clearly state the main theme or focus of the meetup.

Examples:

  • “Using GitHub to Build Digital Public Goods”

  • “AI for Agriculture: Open Solutions for Small Farmers”

Guest Speakers or Stakeholders (if any)

List anyone who gave a talk or joined in:

Eg.

  • Dr. Fatmata Kamara – Lecturer, Njala University

  • Ibrahim Conteh – Open Source Developer & Mentor

Key Insights / Highlights

Share 2–4 bullets of what stood out or was learned:

  • Students were excited to learn how GitHub is used in real-world DPG projects

  • Participants pitched ideas for a local learning platform using open content

  • Girls in Tech club expressed interest in joining future meetups

Challenges or Lessons Learned

  • Power outage disrupted projector use – pivoted to printed materials

  • Next time, better to test the venue 1 hour before

Photos (Required – at least 5)

  • Upload group photos, speaker moments, interactive sessions, etc.

  • You can drag and drop the pictures directly into the post

  • If too many, add a Google Drive link underneath a couple of pictures

Go to: meetups - Digital Public Goods Sierra Leone
Click “+ New Topic”, select Category: Meetups, and paste your report.
